Update For NJ, NY, CT and MA

Every single forecast, every single one, has moved the 5 day track farther to the right than the previous forecast.  A couple of days ago, it went up the center of Florida, then hugging the east coast, and so on.  It's been a while since we've seen a hurricane hit NYC.  Might be entertaining - from a distance.  They'll be eating each other within 3 days.

  1. Well, as long as it does not turn into a HUGO we here in NC should be ok. +1 on NYC comment!

  2. I remember that one - Hugo sucked, big time!

Did you get Floyd? I think I was one of about 10% of the city that didn't evacuate. Floyd was a monster. When it was off the coast here (near Cape Canaveral), the clouds extended from the Keys to the Georgia state line, but it did what this one's doing, and every update was a little to the right of the previous one.

  3. I was in Mobile with my wife in a fifth-wheel at an RV park north of town when Opal came through. The tree branch that speared through the roof right over the stove in the galley was exciting, as well as the 75 mph winds that - luckily - were blowing right on the nose of the trailer (still hooked up to my truck at the time).

As a kid, I lived through several hurricanes that hit New York back in the early '60s. We were living in the middle of Long Island at the time, but a few miles inland from the North Shore. Both times the power was out for over a week.

The reason San Francisco never gets one is because they are already eating each other over there.
