A lot of custom jewelry starts out that way, but multiple 2D layers are too inexact for most machine parts.
Zendo Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00094772654735415974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-34541212734019713072018-01-18T10:33:47.383-05:002018-01-18T10:33:47.383-05:00I'd say that it has to be clear both as a liqu...I'd say that it has to be clear both as a liquid and a solid, which seems it has to be somewhat limiting.

The SLA printed things I've seen came out a slightly translucent beige kind of color (off white?). That "water drop" print in the photo, though, looks clear.
SiGraybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00280583031339062059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-69951042706631105652018-01-18T10:20:22.727-05:002018-01-18T10:20:22.727-05:00Don't want to assume, but is this process only...Don't want to assume, but is this process only going to work with clear or translucent resin?
John in Phillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16196033252818387245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-32018956300719582882018-01-18T09:10:57.126-05:002018-01-18T09:10:57.126-05:00The first 3D printed parts I ever saw were around ...The first 3D printed parts I ever saw were around that time; Major Defense Contractor (where I worked) bought one of those resin printers. That was before '96, and the Last Job got an extruded filament printer probably 10 years later. I remember prototypes from it in '08 or so. They were giving out little 144th scale F-16 jets as fast as they could print them!

They were the same company that did the opening sequence for the the movie "Small Soldiers" where they prototype characters were seen being built-up.drjimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05647484115197408897noreply@blogger.com
