Walking away, defaulting, will be a SHTF event - economic collapse. Funny thing is that pretty much all the possibilities lead to economic collapse.

Perhaps the least destructive is inflating away the currency to nothing (also called devaluing the currency), seizing all the savings in the country (like 401k accounts) and desperate tricks like that. Those won't hold off the SHTF forever and anyone who has their accounts seized will think it's over anyway, so why not pick up the rifle and head for the hills?

SiGraybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00280583031339062059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-53042580838189154942013-12-31T14:21:16.245-05:002013-12-31T14:21:16.245-05:00Taper or don't taper there is no good choice. ...Taper or don't taper there is no good choice. If you have a tiger by the tail should you let go or hold on? I knew a women whose husband had lost his job and outlasted his unemployment benefits and for a year she had been paying bills and buyng food using credit cards. At this time they were losing their home, all credit was withdrawn and they were beginning divorce. She moved out with her 4 kids and got full benefits from the government and the man simply walked away from his bills and responsibilities. In my opinion this is where our entire country is today minus the actual recognition of the facts. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
