The List of Companies Boycotting the NRA

Granted, not everyone who shoots is an NRA member, but Newsweek (via MSN) very handily put together a list of companies that don't want to do business with anyone from the gun culture.   I'm sure they intended it to gather more companies to boycott the NRA, but it's fair to reciprocate.
Alamo Rent a Car
Avis
Allied Van Lines
Bestwestern
Budget
Chubb Insurance
Delta Air Lines
Enterprise Rent-a-Car
First National Bank of Omaha
Hertz
Lifelock
MetLife
National Car Rental
North American Van Lines
Paramount Rx
SimpliSafe
Symantec
TrueCar
I can only say that if they don't want my business, then I don't want theirs and I'll be joining in the boycott of all of these.  In practical terms that means checking this list and not spending my money with anyone on the list.  I'll try to keep it updated.

As often happens, when the world starts to threaten not just the NRA but all of us as people, the NRA is having a membership rush now.

  1. I wish that I used any of the peoducts of those companies, so that I could boycot them .

Turns out that I've been boycotting them for years !

  2. could be interesting as Simplisafe is a heavy advertiser on both Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity's shows. And on Glenn Beck's show too I think...all 3 are solid 2A supporters from what I have heard.

    1. Mrs. Graybeard and I were talking about that, too. I wouldn’t be surprised if they suddenly didn’t appear on those shows this week, but I know nothing about what sorts of contracts are involved.

  3. Missed United.

Since it's all the major car rental companies, and major airlines, for anyone who travels for work a boycott is out of the questions. I would suggest that calls and emails from actual customers might have more weight than cyberbullying by 17 year olds....

    worth a try anyway.

    1. United and Delta. I fly Delta a lot because I use our local airport whenever the price is close. I can't say I've ever used an NRA discount anywhere, and I'm sure I've never used it on Delta's website.

In that sense it really doesn't matter, but I am sick and tired of being blamed for horrific things I had nothing to do with.

    2. I gave up flying United before all that kerfluffle last year due to their problems; I haven't flown Delta in years but I'd lump them both together.
I fly Southwest whenever I can; they are MUCH better to deal with, very helpful, checked bags are free, and their prices are close enough to competitors to not matter.

  5. Since I dropped my FB account a couple of years ago, I was totally unaware of those guys (2A Check?).

But I've gotta say I don't think I've ever heard "liver eating" used in a sentence before.

  6. The rent-a-car bunch will make it difficult to rent since they all jumped on the bandwagon. Maybe Ugly Duckling rent-a-car?

    1. I don't know how good any of these "lower tier" places are, but neither Dollar or Thrifty (rent a car) show up as having dropped NRA discounts. Maybe they never gave an NRA discount? They're the same company and one source says they're owned by Hertz, so does the Hertz drop cover them? There's only a handful of car rental places that are truly national, let alone global, and it looks like they've given us a BOHICA.

  7. I used liver eating based on an early west character . I sort of equate it to really tough
    hombre.

  8. Once, when temporarily captured, he killed his Indian guard and ate his leg. Tough hombre is quite an understatement.

    Thanks for the education!
