So they are installed with isolation valves and a hose bib connection so every few years you can hook up a simple pump and circulate a vinegar solution to clear the scale. This prolongs the life of the heater.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-16077882951503136832019-11-05T08:39:11.049-05:002019-11-05T08:39:11.049-05:00Thanks for the leads on camping water heaters and ...Thanks for the leads on camping water heaters and backup propane heaters. I hadn't even thought of those. Since it will take another few days to get one and install it, that's a bit late for now but worth looking into for general hurricane preps. That's the situation between South Dakota and central Florida.

It's OK to laugh. I retired from a company centered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They used to tease us all the time about not being as hardy as they were.

The water out of our cold tap is around 75 degrees. Definitely above 70. Our EPA-ruled washing machine won't let me turn on the Warm setting because it's a waste to add hot water when the tap water is already warm.

SiGraybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00280583031339062059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-59363295873187889362019-11-05T07:25:56.869-05:002019-11-05T07:25:56.869-05:00Yup, South Dakota here... yes, we are not laughing...Yup, South Dakota here... yes, we are not laughing ate you, but, yeah we are. I have a Bosch Natural Gas Tank-less plumbed in after a 40 gallon electric hot water tank that just sits there and is a storage tank unless something happens to the tank-less and now have a back up hot water source. The tank brings 50 degree water in and let it heat up to 70 degree ambient finished basement temp. The rise between that and what the tank-less sends out makes a difference in NG consumption.
