I should have thought of Thomas Dolby last ...Cool. I should have thought of Thomas Dolby last night. Dolby gave the keynote address at Design West an engineering conference this year. He invented an early method of digitizing music, called Beatnik, that was licensed by Nokia and used in creating downloadable ring tones, and has moved on from there.

Of course, most people think of him for "She Blinded Me With Science", but I always thought he wrote really attractive melodies that would get into my brain for hours.
SiGraybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00280583031339062059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-1532631652835828732013-02-23T09:04:29.511-05:002013-02-23T09:04:29.511-05:00Jeff "Skunk" Baxter is another musician-...Jeff "Skunk" Baxter is another musician-turned-tech kind of guy. It seems that one day he developed an interest in missile defense and has since become a fixture in the intelligence community. The irony is amusing considering he was once a member of a band called The Doobie Brothers.

He seriously has the ear of some top ODNI officials. Not bad for a self-taught kind of guy.Xenoclesnoreply@blogger.com
