His goal is to entertain, not proselytize and that makes him part of a dying breed of showman.Dannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-26750690933866630342019-06-11T14:58:04.502-04:002019-06-11T14:58:04.502-04:00You raise a good point. Standing in the crowd waiting to go in I couldn't help but be haunted by memories of people saying "avoid crowds!" over and over.

This venue only seats about 2500 to maybe 2800. The church I go to seats more than that - they just don't have Weird Al concerts! Or any of the others that show up at the Center. Just like Al stopped in to play the small city on the way between three big cities in Florida, we get big names on occasion.
SiGraybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00280583031339062059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-90395136102869326412019-06-11T14:46:25.936-04:002019-06-11T14:46:25.936-04:00I've had similar problems with arena security....I've had similar problems with arena security. It is one of the reasons that I don't go to big arenas anymore - not only is traffic and parking a pain, they have rude security with an attitude who don't know their ow rules!
I was at a concert in a local arena when a guard told me I wasn't allowed to take pictures (despite everybody around me doing it). I checked and neither the website nor the tickets mentioned anything, so I went back to doing it. He didn't say anything later, so it was a moot point.
In general, I like this local arena because it is 10 minutes away, free parking is available, it is a beautiful old building, and there is no security or restrictions on the building. I can even carry there, unless it has been rented by a school. Unlike many states, the state it is in doesn't have an automatic prohibition on carry in arenas.
Also, many of the groups I like play it the night before or after they play in the big city an hour away.Jonathan Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10476185257203343474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-70774017248329461272019-06-11T00:21:38.421-04:002019-06-11T00:21:38.421-04:00I saw him once at a concert - open floor. Al motioned to the security guard, and the guard took my daughters and put them between the barricade and the stage.

How cool was that?

So, obviously I'm now a closepersonalfriendofAl.John Wilderhttp://wilderwealthywise.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-60865529634631190512019-06-11T00:12:43.301-04:002019-06-11T00:12:43.301-04:00I saw him once decades ago, back in Chicago.
