VA headquarters that was directing us to reduce care to our vets.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars were spent at our facility alone that were not only wasteful, but absurd (removing plumbing pipe on the floor because a vet might somehow figure a way to hang himself from an item two inches off the floor).

We were told that "bioethicists" were coming up with some of these decisions to "improve" the care we gave the vets. At the same time that we couldn't schedule appointments for vets sooner than two or three months down the road. If then.

If I had stayed another five months, I could have qualified for my small VA retirement, but I couldn't stomach what was happening, and quit. Co-workers that are still there tell me horror stories of how bad it is getting.

Hospital policy will be what kills more and more patients as this gets worse.Reg Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14099612693763932005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-82150430556161993592014-09-25T21:24:39.832-04:002014-09-25T21:24:39.832-04:00He's director of the Clinical Bioethics Depart...He's director of the Clinical Bioethics Department at the NIH? Sounds like a great place to influence the ethics and thereby allow more sweeping policy changes in the future.

I think he has gone from influencing insurance policy to affecting hospital policy through new ethics recommendations, handed down by the NIH.

Jim RJim Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02894121405542319142noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-73079398355947476082014-09-25T15:28:28.246-04:002014-09-25T15:28:28.246-04:00I have been telling my liberal friends that someda...I have been telling my liberal friends that someday they will be denied medical care because of their age and the cost while at the very sametime our government will be spending billions and billions on health care for illegal aliens. They don't get it.
My wife's grandfather passed away about 5 years ago. He lived in Canada and was a proud Canadian. But at age 82 with a serious heart condition his government denied him lifesaving care because of the cost benefit. Ironically he had recently sold his farm and had about $100,000 in the bank. He could have gone to an American hospital and had the operation within a week or two. But his pride in his 82 year love with his great country wouldn't let him do that. I was there when he made a gift of $25,000 toeach of his four children and his wife of almost 60 years was holding back tears because she knew by this act he was committing himself to the grim decision of the Canadian socialised health care system. He passed away two years later. As a robust otherwise healthy man, after all he was a farmer all those years, he maybe could have lived 5-10 years longer with a bypass. But His pride in his government was rewarded with a knife in the back. That is what socialized health care is everywhere it is practiced.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-57371772047382429332014-09-25T02:15:57.697-04:002014-09-25T02:15:57.697-04:00He's softening up the sheep for medical practi...He's softening up the sheep for medical practices in Soviet Union 2.0. He knows life expectancy in the US will be decreasing shortly. He knows that people's relatives will be denied care as occurs in every government run health scheme.

Our nascent slavemasters haven't grabbed the guns yet - they wouldn't bother to write propaganda if they had. But they can't stop themselves from trying to move the ball down the field, so they will attempt to convince you that being euthanized/denied care is wonderful.

They will manage us as a rancher with his livestock. It's economics - are you a productive slave? Of course Emanuel and the majority of his coreligionists will be exempt, and receive only the best of care (and everything else). In the Soviet Union they were called the Nomenklatura, or elite. Slave master is more accurate however.Petenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-82247577740519296352014-09-25T02:13:54.074-04:002014-09-25T02:13:54.074-04:00I would be pleased to hear that old Zeke had succu...I would be pleased to hear that old Zeke had succumbed to terminal lead poisoning. Perhaps copper-covered lead.

A lot of the Gen X, Gen Y (or whatever the latest iteration may be) folks believe the elderly have no value. They fail to see the value added to lives by the experience that can be tapped and passed on by elder people.

Even a dying parent can provide insights to those around them due to their life experiences, personal wisdom, or even simply the emotional interactions with family, friends, and even strangers they encounter. Something as simple as a loving hug to a grandchild, emotional support to a friend in need, or friendship offered to a stranger can make a significant difference in the life of the receiver of that contact.

And that doesn't even touch the fact of the wealth of practical experience that we older folks can provide.

It amazes me that so many younger people cannot see or understand this. It doesn't amaze me that an egotistical cretin from a degenerate family such as Rahm and Ezekial's refuses to admit that value.

In the old "lifeboat" scenario, many of us would sacrifice ourselves for family and friends. Perhaps even for a stranger. But to be forced, to have ourselves terminated or denied care at someone else's whim is disgusting, elitist, and unacceptable.Reg Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14099612693763932005noreply@blogger.com
