It isn't that hard to "fix our system" (I've long supported the property-owner thing, as that addresses several ills in one swell foop) but it has been long apparent that those in charge don't want the system fixed.Malatropenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-42139292074640834292020-08-21T08:11:17.225-04:002020-08-21T08:11:17.225-04:00I haven't heard that aspect, but I've alwa...I haven't heard that aspect, but I've always heard the Postal Inspectors were very effective. Like a test on current situations or events just to see some level of preparation for going in to vote. We have term limits in Florida, and what happens is the same people stay lifetime politicians, they just move between offices. The name recognition goes with them.

I'm fine with the original intent that voting only be by people who own real property.

Both of those have as much chance of flying as I do by flapping my arms.

SiGraybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00280583031339062059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-45864457982472124272020-08-21T07:59:15.482-04:002020-08-21T07:59:15.482-04:00What percentage of the vote is mailed in historica...What percentage of the vote is mailed in historically? Absentee ballots are too widely used as is, but there are safeguards, e.g. having to request them individually. Unsolicited mail-in ballots, OTOH, are ripe for fraud. Did I miss something? Are we actually doing this nationally for the election?
Let's get back to in person ballots with pencil and paper...like civilized countries. Can't read the print, bring your glasses. Can't read, too bad; no vote for you; you either wasted 13 years worth of public money, or you're simply too stupid to be allowed to vote.
In fact, while we're setting bars, if you're living on public assistance, and not a net taxpayer, you are subject to moral hazard and may not vote. I'll except social security if you've paid into it...but until it's individual private accounts, there's still some moral hazard.
DifferAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-59525121616012445972020-08-21T07:18:12.033-04:002020-08-21T07:18:12.033-04:00Which kinda makes it worse. They not only have never been alert enough to their surroundings to notice mailboxes on the trucks, or mail trucks being towed, they're not alert enough to recognize the USPS logo. The New Joisey congress woman's Tweet has a picture with clearly older mailboxes on one side of the bed and newer ones on the other side. Right there on the tailgate, facing the camera, is the USPS logo.
SiGraybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00280583031339062059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-83350576848459083002020-08-21T04:11:09.188-04:002020-08-21T04:11:09.188-04:00In the bigger cities, the USPS have their own flee...In the bigger cities, the USPS have their own fleet of tow trucks. He is 'demanding' (ever notice the dems never simply ask) that the state AG 'investigate' this attempt by DJT to prevent mail in voting. And if the AG doesn't, he will be 'forced' to do his own investigation.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-3005341068999698052020-08-20T22:44:54.941-04:002020-08-20T22:44:54.941-04:00Jamie Lee Curtis can indeed dance, for a given val...Jamie Lee Curtis can indeed dance, for a given value of 'dance'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWyyHqNHWEU That's a John Hiatt tune, with Ryland Cooder on the slide.JChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02448124833598565813noreply@blogger.com
