Other than exponential growth in cost and headcount, what was the last large modification of the executive branch? The creation of the EPA by Nixon? The permanent bureaucracy is the most stable thing in government.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-13181815665227544322020-01-03T05:16:52.459-05:002020-01-03T05:16:52.459-05:00The election of Donald J. Trump to the presidency in a free and fair election signaled a tectonic shift in American politics that accompanied the wealth and increased standard of living. The rejection of entrenched political dynasties and corrupt politicians has accompanied a booming economy. Part of the way it has gotten better is the vastly increased power tool technology options to do/make/build. Compare to how in the US in 1990, there were no inexpensive 300-pound lathes and mills and their accessories, purchasable out of widely distributed catalogs by anyone without industry insider connections. South Bend Atlas via Sears and Myford via England were not that. Also count leave out all the cheap CAD and CAM available now which can run on trashpicked computers. People may be making model steam engines with these tools today, but tomorrow in Virginia they could be repeating what happened to the Saudi refinery with drones.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592992209402300549.post-52212486230230491552020-01-02T22:09:50.731-05:002020-01-02T22:09:50.731-05:00I was bored and curious one day so I followed our ...I was bored and curious one day so I followed our local recycling truck after it left the neighborhood. Followed it right to the landfill, where I watched it dump right next to the regular garbage trucks.

Yeah. Recycling.
