70 Years Ago Today

Thanks to a link on I Own The World we learn that in 1940, on this day, Bugs Bunny's cinema debut took place in the "short film" A Wild Hare.   So here's something completely different from my normal blog fodder.

I can't tell you how many wonderful memories of Looney Tunes I have - and not just as a child.

Thanks to the wonders of YouTube, another of my favorites:

Alas, they don't make 'em like this any more!

  1. "Alas, they don't make'em like this any more!"

That's because of all the gratuitous violence that turned our generation into a pack of sociopathic wife beating child abusers. If only we could of had Teletubbies and Sponge Bob, perhaps we would have turned out asexual purse carriers whose only ambition in life would have been working at fast food drive (er, ah) swim through joints.

I suppose it's too way too late to file against Warner Brothers for the irreparable damage to my adolescent psyche?

It's really a shame though. Cartoons have become nothing more than another indoctrination tool of the leftest looney toons.

  2. Mrs. Graybeard and I have often said the problem with our society is kids can't watch Looney Tunes any more. Plus the insane "sanitizing" that the Cartoon Network and Turner (I believe) did to them.
