Comey's Letter Was an Interesting Development

I've got to say I was surprised by the big news today, that Comey might have grown a backbone.  There have been a lot of reports that insiders at the FBI were making their displeasure known about his previous caving to the Clinton crime syndicate and there have even been rumors in the press that some have threatened to resign.  Could that have been what got Comey moving?

Politico prints the entire text of the letter to the various committee chairs in DC, which reduces to a "paragraph and a half" when stripped of its large address block and closing.
In previous congressional testimony, I referred to the fact that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had completed its investigation of former Secretary Clinton's personal email server. Due to recent developments, I am writing to supplement my previous testimony.

In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation. I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation.  Although the FBI cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant, and I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work, I believe it is important to update your Committees about our efforts in light of my previous testimony.
By the way, "I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work" translates as "we'll be back in touch well after the election".

It's particularly ironic that it appears the emails they found to investigate showed up while investigating Anthony "Carlos Danger" Weiner.   It doesn't seem possible for Weiner to legitimately have anything classified from Hillary, so the emails would have had to have come from his soon-to-be ex-wife, Huma Abedin.  Could it be that serial sexter Weiner is the one who brings down Hildebeest?

Does this matter?  In a reality where Comey thoroughly discredited the FBI (and then gets mad when everyone talks about them being weasels), it's hard to say.  Unless I miss my guess (always likely), a move that seems to respect the rule of law will appeal more to conservatives than liberals, so this might stiffen the spines of the Stupid Party people who aren't on board with Trump and get them to show up and vote.  It might affect "the undecided" vote, or lower their opinion of Hildebeest a little bit.  It will have no effect on the committed Evil party voters.
Just can't resist using the Ramirez cartoon again.

  1. Three scenarios:
    1. WikiLeaks was ready to release emails that would prove Comey's investigation was really a cover-up. So Comey jumps in front of the story, re-opens the case, and avoids being shown a complete fraud.
    2. Comey is worried Trump might win this thing after all, which means his butt could be in a sling its own damn self as soon as Trump appoints an independent investigator.
    3. 5 dozen or so FBI agents threaten to resign and spill the beans if Comey didn't reopen the case and at least give a warning to the stupid American electorate that Hillary is a crook.

    1. Feasible scenarios. I'd guess the most likely is the third, especially if those agents already started a file investigating the boss and have a case to indict him.

All of the WikiLeaks stories don't seem to be doing much. The media has been very effective at dumping. If they want to destroy Comey, they'll go nonstop wall to wall screaming coverage of it. If they think he's a good guy, they'll bury it.

  2. I wonder how much this has to do with the information that has recently been released concerning Comey's deep connections to the Clintons and the Clinton Foundation, along with the $500K his wife received from sources connected to Hillary.

Nonetheless, this is still nothing but window dressing, Comey trying to retrieve a little bit of respect, but too little, too late. Nothing will come of it, now or after she gets appointed as our next President. (And I would love to eat a murder of crow due to my prediction failing to become fact, but I know that isn't going to happen.)

    1. Somewhere I was reading last night, and I'm kicking myself for not bookmarking it, I read that the rebellion in the FBI is not over Hillary but over the Clinton Foundation. The agents were saying it's not just a money laundering operation (which we all know) but corruption throughout the entire government. The payola is spread everywhere. They're talking about literally having to indict whole sectors of the Fed.gov, from top to bottom. Because it was website I'd never heard of, I was reluctant to go full Alex Jones with it.

    2. If Obama were Republican, we'd hear the whole story. But since the Democrat press protects their own, we have to sift thru the blogosphere to get the facts. James Comey has a lawyer brother, Peter. Who does taxes for the Clinton Foundation? Peter. Who investigated the books of the Foundation to make sure it was all "legal"? Peter. When James needed a $700,000 loan who had the cash to give him? Peter.

There's more https://www.reddit.com/r/WayOfTheBern/comments/54qc5j/fbi_director_received_millions_from_clinton/. Not the NY Times, of course, but seems factual.

This crap goes on everywhere! John Podesta forms the Podesta Group, a lobbying firm enployed by Russians. Yes, Russians need to lobby Washington too. When it gets sticky for Hillary's Chief Manager to be seen lobbying for Russians, John hands the firm over to his BROTHER. That way the NY. Times can report Hillary's John Podesta had no connection to the Russians. Only Trump. As if brothers never talk to each other.

Its really bad. Crooked people. Crooked press.
