In the World of the High Tech Redneck, the Graybeard is the old guy who earned his gray by making all the mistakes, and tries to keep the young 'uns from repeating them. Silicon Graybeard is my term for an old hardware engineer; a circuit designer. The focus of this blog is on doing things, from radio to home machine shops and making all kinds of things, along with comments from a retired radio engineer, that run from tech, science or space news to economics; from firearms to world events.

ReplyDeleteWhat makes you think they were THAT old?
DeleteYeah, I was going to say 12 and possibly younger. Old "Bent Willie" had to boink them younger and younger, because anyone older knew they were getting "short"-changed.
DeleteCan I make a totally off-topic comment about CapCHAs (or whatever they are called) used to "verify" that a person isn't a robot? I realize that these are simply used to steal a human's cognitive ability, so as to aid "artifical" image recognition, but they really shouldn't argue with you.
ReplyDeleteIn a recent one, it said "Select all images with a house", which I dutifully did (do the machines work for us or vice-versa?). It did not accept my judgment that an apartment building was not a house, and wouldn't let me through until I agreed that it was thus and so.
It seems that our machine masters are beginning to turn on us...
"I for one welcome our new robot overlords". I've had that happen on other guys' blogs. Or there will be something like click on all the food and something it considers food I find unrecognizable.
DeleteMethinks that Bill Clinton needs Bongo Bills Banjo Pills ... or perhaps that's his problem. Too many of them! >};o)
