Today This Blog is 13 Years Old

Ackshually ... my very first day of blogging was February 21, 2010, which happened to be the third Sunday of the month.  Since weekends are more quiet days, and the 21st doesn't usually work out to be a Sunday, I've always marked the anniversary as the third Sunday of the month.

As always, I thank you for stopping by.  This year, I've noticed that my high readership days are sometimes going over 3000 per day, and have gotten close to 5000 a couple of times.  For the last 30 days, eyeballing the numbers says between 1275 and 2425 views/day.  Blogger tells me this is post #4,461 and all time total of views is a bit over 6,383,000.

Between yesterday's post and this one, the amount of "me me me meeeee" is overwhelming, so I'm pretty confident nobody is reading down this far.  If you are, my pick for this afternoon's Daytona 500 is - no wait.  It'll be over by the time most of you see this.

  1. It takes a lot of commitment to keep blogging for 13 years. I enjoy what you write. For me it's a must-read.

  2. A daily read, often a moment of peace in a clown world.

    Thanks

  3. I have been a reader for about two years and enjoy your writings quite a bit. Learned a lot from the "Special Pages as well. For whatever reason though my google sign in doesn't work on your page (it's grayed out) so I guess I will continue to be anonymous. EdC.

  4. FWIW, Google wouldn’t let me sign in today either. Every few days or maybe couple of weeks it does that. At least on the desktop PC.

    1. What is funny is that I am signed into google and have used my google account to comment on other websites today both before and after trying to comment on your page. I think one of these days when I have nothing better to do I will try using Chrome and see if that makes any difference. Firefox, or at least my desktop installation of it is becoming more and more problematic. EdC

  5. Congratulations!
13 years of blogging is like two Ice Ages timewise.
There have literally been millions of blogs come and gone in that time.
You are obviously as stubborn as I am.

  7. Just ahead of me on Blogger, but way behind if you count my LiveJournal days.

There's not many of us with this many years on.

I've wished I could comment, but they never seem to get through.

  10. Daily read here, as well. Thank you for a perspective I can't get elsewhere, and the bonus of being local to me.

  12. *what others have said

This is a daily stop for me. You always have something worthwhile to say, and that you've said it for 13 years is a testament to a life being well-lived.
