I'm There

Saw this cartoon at Townhall.com and I'm more in line with this character than I would have thought.

Cartoonist Steven Kelly, also available at GoComics.

I have so little trust in the FBI these days that if they told me the sun was going to rise in the east, I'd look west.  I used to think of them completely differently; I'm told that was hopelessly naive.

  1. Used to watch the show "FBI" with Efram Zimblist, Jr. on Sunday nights back in the '60s when they used to catch bank robbers and such. Now not so much.

    1. Add in Hutaree militia, Senator Stevens, Bundy ranch, Malheur, and probably "four grandpas in a Waffle House". And never forget Whitey Bulger.

    1. We've always been at war with Eastasia Orwell's point in 1984 was that it's more than just government Though Police. The people themselves participate, willfully, in "double think".

Folks, most people I know have the media memory of a goldfish. Just ask a random grocery shopper about the Chinese Balloons of last week or two. Try to be vague so they simply don't parrot your own words back.

You'll be embarrassed 6+ out of 10 times with a blank stare and defensive don't bother me comment.

This isn't recommended in ethnic areas known to be prone to violence.

  4. Tony Hillerman wrote a series of mystery novels set on and around the Navajo reservations (and other reservations) in New Mexico. He was elected a friend of the tribe, today he would be denounced for cultural appropriation.

Anyway, the FBI made frequent appearances because of jurisdiction. They weren't painted as corrupt - that was in DC - but they were inept. And apparently some of the incidents were based on real screw-ups.

  5. I don't believe that the virus originated in the Wuhan lab. Wuhan is just where it first got loose (probably by accident).
