My brain fart of the day was thinking it was the fourth on Saturday and not the third. I caught on fairly late in the day when I had to actually think about the date.
It just got to be time to say, "May the fourth be with you," and all.
I was going to say that I haven't seen any Star Wars content since the last trilogy, episodes 7, 8 and 9 - excuse me, episodes VII, VIII and IX - with Daisy Ridley (Rey Skywalker), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn) and many more. That's what I originally thought, but it's not really all. I watched the Rogue One "prequel" movie, the original Andor series on Disney+/Hulu streaming, the Obi Wan Kenobi series, the first two Mandalorian series and probably more that I can't remember now. I see the second Andor season is playing, although I haven't caught a minute of it, and something called the Mandalorian and Grogu looks like a full feature film that's coming in 2026.
But Kylo Ren is the only Star Wars character that has an internet meme about him. The existence of Kylo Ren implies the existence of a Kylo Stimpy.

I've only seen the original trilogy and the pre-trilogy. And I loved watching the stupid Jedi get their just rewards for being such a bunch of dumb jerks. Always thought the easiest way to waste a jedi was to open up some full auto fire.
ReplyDeleteDisney needs to coax Lucas back, if only for a ceremonial press conference, fire Kathleen Kennedy publicly and for cause, and apologize for the entire retarded prequel trilogy. Adam Driver was about as terrifying a villain as MiniMe, and Rey's grrl-power heroine about as unconvincing, fake, and ghey as Captain Marvel, both sprung from the same woketarded malfunctionaries.
ReplyDeleteUntil they do that, they can suck it, and they deserve all the well-deserved hate they get for jacking up the entire franchise.
They quite simply suck and blow, and so does most of their post-Lucas product, and legions of fans fart in their general direction.
The only Star Wars movie I ever saw was the first. It was okay, although it didn't make any sense from a military POV. Carrie Fisher was the ugliest leading lady I ever saw,, with the possible exception of Kim Darby in True Grit. After finding out that SW was intended as an anti-American movie, I lost all interest in the Star Wars franchise.
ReplyDeleteDamnation Alley, which came out around the same time, was a much better movie in terms of story(not effects, alas). My then girlfriend(now 45+ years married) and I saw DA while stationed at Hill AFB in Utah, and we laughed our heads off with the scene of the giant cockroaches in Salt Lake City.
I don't think I ever heard of Damnation Alley. And I never heard about SW being an anti-American movie, but I don't take movies seriously. Likewise I can't claim a military POV but they've all been pretty stupid in much of their fight scenarios, like Beans says about Jedi using The Force against some well-placed full auto machine guns. Instead of The Force, they should have just called it Magic. That's how they treat it.
ReplyDeleteLucas, years later, said he based the Rebellion on the Viet Cong and the Imperials on the US military. No. Not kidding.
DeleteWhat do you expect from the guy who made Han shoot second?
Here's the Wiki article on the movie:

I'm a "fan" of nuclear war books; I read Kahn's On Thermonuclear War around the age of 10-12, and I have a signed copy of the book. Every few years I re-read Pat Franks Alas, Babylon and Eric Harry's Arc Light. I probably have over 100 books on nuclear war, fiction and non-fiction
Damnation Alley, while not a good description of an all out war, was more a study in style, and Judge Dredd took a lot from it. I had all of Zelazny's works at one time, but I downsized my sf collection in the late 90s.
I do take the politics of both literary and film creators seriously. I loved much of Arthur C. Clarke's work, but I sold my collection of his books when the evidence of his p@edophilia became too obvious to ignore. There are several other authors that met the same fate, and I got rid of some older movies when I found out their far left politics((Kirk Douglas, Gregory Peck,...) Why give these people my hard earned dollars, when they are opposed to things I believe in?
ReplyDeleteTo be clear, I am NOT calling for censorship; I tend to be a 1st Amendment(and 2nd Amendment) absolutist, although I personally won't own semi-auto firearms.
