Blame it On Sharp As A Marble

Robb, over at Sharp as a Marble, posted a link to a video of a song called River Shiver by a couple kids who call themselves Pomplamoose - a playful riff on the French word for grapefruit. This is how they describe their work:
This is a VideoSong, a new Medium with two rules:

1. What you see is what you hear (no lip-syncing for instruments or voice).
2. If you hear it, at some point you see it (no hidden sounds).
Liked it. Looked for more.  Like a lot more of them, too.  So since I've developed a tendency to sound like Fat Tony (Joe Mantegna's character on The Simpsons), this one had natural appeal to me:

I hate to whine, but I probably spent close to 18 hours putting together those posts over the weekend.  The hard part isn't writing it; it's figuring out what not to write!  Time for just a little R&R.

  1. I found these people a while ago because of their cover of the Danny Kaye/Andrews Sisters song "Civilization".

I was impressed. My background is such that I don't impress easy.

  2. I like it. Her voice kinda reminds me of Zooey Daschenal in a good way. Thanks for giving me something to listen too at work!

Another person who does the VideoSong thing (and was doing it before it had a name...) was FreddeGredde (fredde25 on youtube). one of his first posts that shows that style, while a cover of a video game song, gets played by me most mornings because its just beautiful and makes me smile:

    1. Thanks for the dual tips. Never seen FreddeGredde before, and while I knew Zooey from "Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy", I didn't know she's also a singer. I have some listening to do.
