Time Out

I'm coming down with something, and I'm just hoping it's not this year's flu/creeping crud. As a result blogging will slow down for a day or two (I guess).

Woke up at 5 AM with stomach pains and some nausea.  Eventually got back to sleep at 7:30 for a couple of hours.  It has been stalking me all day long.  Low grade fever, about 100.4.  I actually took a nap from about 3-5 this afternoon.  That is so far from normal for me that it's a warning sign.

So... cartoon!

  1. Get tested for Influenza. It only takes 7 minutes for result. Influenza A, H3N2, is the current bug. Tamiflu reduces its duration by 1 to 2 days. Also, lessens severity. I finish my course of treatment on Tamiflu tomorrow. The prophylactic dose is 1 per day for 10 days. The “ya got it” dose is 2 per day for 5 days. I have been on it for 4.5 days.

    1. But do be aware of some of the Tamiflu "side effects":

I wonder which is worse - the flu? Or listening to the devil? Although one can regularly get that second effect simply from listening to the MSM "news"...

  2. Hope it's just a cold virus.

Tamiflu ASAP if yer Flu+, fluids and rest regardless, but not total immobility.
I've admitted multiple patients from ages 17-85 the last month who turned 4-5 days of laying immobile with flu into full pneumonia.
Flu doesn't kill you so much as pneumonia does, which is "deader than canned tuna", and takes antibiotics and IV fluid to beat.

Drink water/juice/soup/jello daily until you're peeing nearly clear, and take it easy, just not slug-like. Get up, sit, read, move around, turn over/cough/deep breathe.

    Best wishes.

  5. So far, this thing is completely without respiratory symptoms, and the stomach pain is down a lot from yesterday. Slept through the night with no problems whatsoever.

    1. Classic gastroenteritis is nausea/vomiting/diarrhea.
fever not so much, but if you never went over 101° F., it could have just been normal immune response to something your body didn't want there.

Might've just been some bad food or some other bug.

      Fluid intake.
      Handwashing.
      Effective for centuries.

      Glad you're doing better.
