Tuesday Update - Crew-9 Rescheduled

Just a short post to relay that SpaceX has bumped the Crew-9 flight out to Saturday, 9/28, 1:17PM EDT.

We are on Tropical Storm Watch and (IIRC) they don't put up Warnings until we're under 24 hours before they're expected which looks to be midday Thursday.  As I said Monday, Wednesday is looking like the day to "get 'er done." Which basically means Wednesday morning.

  1. Currently, storm forecast to make landfall at area of Big Bend on Thurs night.
Curiously, forecast is storm (downgraded to depression) to retrograde west across TN, MO, and into IL on Saturday.

Family friends moved to Tallahassee from Cape Coral, in part, to lower risk from hurricanes. Just in time. Funny, not funny.

I think I've known people who have done that before. Remember Hurricane Michael in October '18, though? That was the worst case possible. It formed and intensified so fast that I don't think I'd have evacuated. It looked like category III but it explosively intensified essentially overnight until it was nearly Cat V and one of the lowest central pressures ever measured in the Atlantic basin.

It came ashore closer to Panama City beach than Tele-hassle but the areas aren't very different.
