It's Not About Guns and Maybe It's Not Even About Control

We all know that saying, right?, "Gun control isn't about guns, it's about control".  Lately, thanks to the prodding of many fine folks, I've been considering that maybe it's not even about control.  Maybe it's about hate.  Let me put it plainly.

Maybe they - the ruling class, the self anointed coastal progressives who want to lead us "forward" - maybe they just hate you and me.  We're ... distasteful.  Those "cousin humping" rednecks with their stupid, icky guns!  (I see Sebastian beat me to some of this)

One of the people who influenced me in this was Michael Bane, who wrote plainly:
Our enemies aren't antigun, they're anti-people-with-guns. It's not the guns they hate...it's us.
Part of the problem is our world views are so different.  We are responsible; we've stood up and taken the awesome responsibility of the lives and safety of not just ourselves, but our families and even strangers who we happen to be around.  Sheep and sheep dogs, is another common idea.  The coastal/blue county elites apparently believe that only the wise and wonderful government should be armed, which is ok because they can go try to emulate Lindsey Lohan or one of those "famous for being famous" twits and not have to be a grownup.  They don't trust themselves with this responsibility, so they project that distrust onto us.  This leads the self-adoring elites to simply declare anyone who has a different viewpoint to be "stupid" or "dumb".  Look at how they savage attorney Gayle Trotter in this Twitchy feed, who testified in the senate's gun-grabbing committee hearing last week.  Twitter isn't a place where one can present well-reasoned arguments or even just facts, but instead of just calling her stupid or crazy, maybe they could cite some studies instead of just name calling.  Of course they can't because the facts are on our side.

How many people have you heard call for the deaths of not just the NRA president and his family, but the NRA itself?  How about that Donald Kaul in the DesMoines Register saying
Declare the NRA a terrorist organization and make membership illegal. Hey! We did it to the Communist Party, and the NRA has led to the deaths of more of us than American Commies ever did. (I would also raze the organization’s headquarters, clear the rubble and salt the earth, but that’s optional.) Make ownership of unlicensed assault rifles a felony. If some people refused to give up their guns, that “prying the guns from their cold, dead hands” thing works for me.

Then I would tie Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, our esteemed Republican leaders, to the back of a Chevy pickup truck and drag them around a parking lot until they saw the light on gun control.
Many people have wondered out loud just how far this goes.  Do they really want to instigate an open civil war to allow the state to clamp down with absolute tyranny?  How many millions do they want to kill?  It's said that before you can succeed with genocide, you need to create a common sense that the victims are not really human.  They're dogs or pigs (or the descendants of pigs and monkeys) or worse.  Al Gore delivered some shocking rhetoric last week when he ventured into this territory
The scientists now know that there is in human nature a divide between what we sometimes call liberals and conservatives, and it gives an advantage, you can speculate, to the human species to have some people who are temperamentally inclined to try to change the future and experiment with new things, and others who are temperamentally inclined to say, wait a minute, not too fast.

This is the stuff of Eugenics, the early 20th century progressive movement to get rid of those inferior races.   Al is saying conservatives are genetically different.  The slope from genetically different to genetically better and worse groups (Gore seems to be here already) and then to totally ignoring anything you have to say, at best, or eliminating you at worst is not just a steep slope, it's greased and ready.  It took less than 30 years, at the beginning of the 20th century when life was much slower than today, to go from sterilizing blacks and other "undesirable" groups to the gas chambers in Europe.

  1. While I have no doubts that O, his minions and the powerful people that hold his strings truly
hate America and free Americans the fundamental
facts have not changed. They intend to rule. In order to rule you have to have complete control over those you intend to rule. If that
target population has the tools to resist your intentions available you cannot rule. This means they must disarm us to rule us....gun control is first, last and always about control.
    All else is secondary......a bonus.

  2. The objective is,and allways was genocide. We cannot be controled, So we must be exsterminated. What they hate is our belife that there is a power higher than THEM. That they are not the gods they think themselves to be. It is realy as simple as that. We will not bow before them, so we must die.

  3. Prescient observation, SG.

I've said before, the lefties are so opposed to self reliance because of the wolves/sheepdogs thing: Wolves have 4 legs and teeth, and prey on the sheep. It's easy to tell when a wolf has been successful, for one discovers dead sheep. It's impossible to tell when a sheepdog has been successful at defending the flock against wolves because nothing has changed, all the sheep are as they were. But, sheepdogs, like wolves, have 4 legs and teeth, so they much be exactly like wolves. That sheepdogs have not killed the sheep yet is mere coincidence.

There is a war coming, and it's unavoidable. The difference between liberals and conservatives is becoming greater, the rhetoric - especially from the liberals - is becoming more caustic, the attitude from conservatives is becoming more entrenched, as would be expected from any population suffering the depredations of another group.

When views are so strongly opposed there is no possibility for compromise; I fear we are approaching the point where the crossover from words, discussion and evaluation not just break down but fail catastrophically. What comes after that will be short-lived but substantially more intense - and unpleasant - that is readily imagined. Societies rarely survive such severe dichotomies.

How the coming war plays out, and precisely when it occurs, are unknowns. America is not a banana republic; we have taken to arms only twice in our history, once to establish independence from a country whose predations then are less severe than those our own government levies upon us now, and once to forcibly resolve the immorality of enslaving others. Gunfire in the streets is not a typically American thing, and usually avoided by strenuously applying the Law of the Land.

When the Law of the Land becomes unenforceable, or, worse, meaningless, the suitable alternatives become much fewer in number. When that number reduces to one is when Unavoidable Things happen.

  4. Eugenics, you say? Well, sauce for the goose is just as good on the gander. Let's speculate here a little bit and say we can determine, via public records (or fragments of public records) who the liberals are.

Is it safe to allow them to remain among us?

Now let's speculate a bit further into the future, after the economic/social collapse that's teetering above us: Will you answer the question the same way, after having somehow lived through the largest setback humanity has seen since the fall of Constantinople?

War to the knife. Get ready for it, because it's ready for you.

  5. I am seeing the same thing from my liberal friends: regular posts on Facebook (and elsewhere) about conservatives which display a complete ignorance of our beliefs and philosophy, coupled with the ironclad belief that their side is right/enlightened.

There is no recognition that we are honorable, intelligent people who have different opinions, no need to discuss or even hear what we have to say--we and our ideas are evil and can safely be dismissed.

Take it a step further: if you visit a site like Planned Parenthood's Facebook page and venture an opinion that in any way differs from their orthodoxy and you will generate a swarm of piranha-like responses--immediate, vicious, unthinking.
