Change of Plans

The QoTD yesterday ended with
I’ve just decided that I’ll be spending Sunday at the range…
Not today: Mrs. Graybeard has a bit of a cold.  Instead, I spent the day reloading .30-06 for my Remington 700 - full power loads, not a load tweaked for the Garand.  Relaxing and fun, especially compared to the problems I had with my first reloading exercise.  Not one problem, not one minute's trouble seating the large rifle primers (Winchester, not CCI).

Didn't watch much of the 9/11 festivities: hardly any at all.  I think Mark Steyn hit it out of the park, though, with his piece "Let's Roll Over".  Go read.  There's just so much weapons-grade snark in there, it doesn't do it justice to excerpt anything.
Let’s Roll Over
We retreat to equivocation, cultural self-loathing, and utterly fraudulent misrepresentation of 9/11.

  1. Another brilliant Mark Steyn piece. Thanks for the link.

  2. Mark sets an impossible bar for people who intend to compete with him. He's one of the best writers around today, and darned funny when you hear him on the radio, too.

  3. I got a chuckle out of the people who suggested that "You should eat bacon and go to the range on Sunday!"

Right. I'll be sure to breathe the ceremonial oxygen, too. ;)

  4. Frankly, I'm a bit skeeved-out by all the mourning too... Smacks of manipulation to me...

Then there's Dear Reader's boss-Klingon rolling its eyes & making SOME snotty comment about the flag...

    Too much...

  5. I thought my wife and I were the only ones who noted a strong resemblance between Mooch and the Duras sisters... Naahhh - Lursa and B'etor were prettier.
