These guys are in town for an air show this weekend.
Practicing a few hours today, overhead, low and loud. The sound of Awesome. I could hear them through the walls at work and meetings were rough. Went outside at lunch to watch what I could but they weren't close. Didn't see very much.
It will be worse tomorrow.
Melbourne?
ReplyDeleteI live out towards Lake Washington. Seems to be the extreme turn around point.
Yes. I think we get 3 more days of them.
ReplyDeleteyou should go see them they are beyond great!!
ReplyDeleteWoW!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen The Blues in years, since they closed the El Toro MCAS.
I'm jealous!
In 1966 I watched the Thunderbirds do a show flying the F-100 Super Sabre. I worked in a three story air defense blockhouse and I was up on the roof watching. Their flybys were even with the roof level and 100 feet from where I was standing. Much later I was stationed at Nellis and the Thunderbirds would run through their routine every Friday at noon over the flight line I could walk out the door and watch them every week. I have to admit I always feared for them. I knew a few of them back then. In 20 years in the Air Force I knew a lot of fighter pilots. Great guys, a little over confident when young and much more mellow when older (mid 30's).
ReplyDeleteHad the damn Houston Grand Prix less than a mile from my bedroom window. Dawn to midnight every day for 10 days.
ReplyDeletePalm Bay is the other turnaround point! Loud! The sound of freedom!
